The Challenge
Timesheets, though required to get paid, often fall to the bottom of the priority list for busy construction workers. Time and resources are wasted on both ends when timesheets are incorrect, and 90% of managers are aware of these timesheet inaccuracies.
How might we automate and streamline the work logging process to get employees paid on time with minimal logging effort from employees and error correction from management?
We set out to create a multimodal IoT solution to automatically log work hours through geofencing location. TimeSpot's low-effort yet high-accuracy system provides both employees and supervisors with location-proven timesheets for seamless payroll.
My Role
Designer & Project Manager
I led the team as Project Manager, leading standups and prioritizing tasks in Kanban boards. As a designer, I collaboratively contributed to every stage of the design process, taking the lead in early research synthesis and definition as well as in the creation of our user flows, style guides, component systems, and Figma prototypes.

The Solution
Our proposed solution is a multimodal mobile app, smartwatch app, and geotag system to help construction workers and supervisors maintain accurate timesheets with minimal effort and error.
In our initial research, we found that the U.S. economy loses approximately 50 million hours and 7.4 billion dollars every day due to timesheet inaccuracies, and 90% of managers are aware of these issues.
The juxtaposition of employees' desire to be paid seamlessly and on time with the low priority and accuracy of timesheet submissions creates a need for an easy and foolproof way to track, submit, and approve timesheets.
